How employment protection works for people of determination

   Two laws protect the employment rights of citizens of determination. They are Federal Law No. 29 of 2006 Concerning the Rights of People with Special Needs, and Dubai Government Law No. 2 of 2014. The Dubai law protects the rights of citizens with special needs within the emirate of Dubai.

   Understand your right to equal opportunity

   The UAE provides for equal and fair employment opportunities to Emiratis of determination. Resolution No. 43 of 2018 aims to support the rights of people of determination in the field of employment by enabling access to opportunities in the labour market.

   See what government entities must do

   The resolution requires government entities to protect the rights of people of determination, to ensure their right to work on an equal basis with others, and not to discriminate against them.

   The resolution also stipulates that the private sector should be encouraged to integrate people of determination into their institutions, and to grant them exemptions and privileges.    The Ministry of Interior's Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of people with special needs empower individuals through training, rehabilitation and by facilitating job opportunities.
