   The Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) supervises the child care homes and ensures proper support families are found for the children. It is the authority responsible for placing a child of unknown parentage with a family.

   Contact MoCD to support a child

   If you and your family wish to support a child of unknown parentage, contact MoCD directly. They guide you through the requirements and the placement process. Ask them for the current documents and conditions, as these are confirmed on the authority's website.

   Check eligibility to embrace a child

   A single, divorced or widowed Muslim Emirati female, residing in the UAE, may apply to embrace a child if she is at least 30 years old and able to support the child financially. Confirm the full eligibility conditions with MoCD.

   Explore sponsoring an orphaned child

   The Emirates Red Crescent Authority facilitates sponsoring arrangements for orphaned children inside and outside the UAE. If you prefer to sponsor rather than support, this is the body to approach for those programmes.

   Consider other sponsoring bodies

   There are several other social and humanitarian entities which provide sponsoring services to abandoned and orphaned children. Compare their programmes to find the arrangement that fits your family, and verify current terms with each entity directly.
