Procedure per DEWA — Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (dewa.gov.ae). Fees and timelines change — check the authority's website. We don't invent numbers.
How activation works, step by step
- 1
Register your tenancy with Ejari first
Activation is tied to your registered tenancy contract. Once your Ejari is issued, DEWA sends a welcome email to the customer, so keep an eye on your inbox after registration.

Owners submit the title deed
If you own the property rather than rent it, the owner must submit the title deed to get the services connected in their name.
Documents:Title deed - 3
Follow the welcome email to confirm your account
The welcome email from DEWA is your signal that the account is being set up. Use it to complete any remaining confirmation for your address so service is registered to you.

Set up how you will pay your bills
Customers can pay DEWA bills using various payment channels, including the EasyPay service, which makes paying straightforward. Decide which channel suits you before your first bill arrives.
- 5
Check current tariffs and view your bill
DEWA publishes its slab tariff and a tariff calculator, and lets you view your bill online. Because rates and any fees can change, always confirm the current amounts on the authority's website rather than relying on a figure you saw elsewhere.
Fees and timelines may change, verify with the official source.
