Activation steps

Prepare your documents
To activate you need a tenancy contract (Ejari) or Title Deed, a copy of your Emirates ID or passport, and contact details. Online activation is via the DEWA website or app.

Submit the activation request
You can activate online at dewa.gov.ae, in the DEWA app, at Happiness Centres or via the call centre. New properties may require a completion certificate from the contractor.

Pay the deposit and activation fee
DEWA charges a refundable deposit (depends on property type) and an activation fee. Exact amounts are shown on the DEWA site during setup, with payment methods.

Supply is switched on
After payment and verification DEWA activates power and water for your address. Bills are monthly; pay online, in the app or by auto-debit.
