The SkillUp Programme in the UAE: A Practical Guide for Residents

How SkillUp is structured

1. 1

   Know where SkillUp sits

SkillUp is one of the three main programmes of the Entrepreneurial Nation initiative; the other two are StartUp and ScaleUp. It was launched in partnership with Emirates Schools Establishment and Bizworld, and its aim is to develop the national entrepreneurship landscape.

2. 2

   Pick your category

The programme is divided into three categories: the Student programme, the Volunteer programme, and the Teachers programme. Choose the one that matches your role.

3. 3

   The Student programme

This focuses on teaching the skills needed to establish and run companies, apart from other skills of the 21st century.

4. 4

   The Volunteer programme

This offers membership in the Entrepreneurial Nation's network of ambassadors, the opportunity to participate in the Entrepreneurial Nation initiative's events, and a participation certificate, as well as the opportunity to provide mentorship to students and young entrepreneurs.

5. 5

   The Teachers programme

This offers the benefits above and, in addition, the opportunity to participate in an educational trip to Silicon Valley in the United States.

6. 6

Check the current tracks and how to join

SkillUp has four tracks in its first phase. Enrolment details, eligibility and any current figures are not fixed here, confirm the latest tracks and the exact way to apply on the authority's website before you commit.
