How to open or relocate a company to Dubai

Official procedure (mainland)

   Choose your business activity

   There are more than 2000 activities in the UAE. The legal form must match the chosen activity.

   Select a legal form

   E.g. general partnership, limited partnership, LLC, PJSC, PrJSC. The form depends on the business requirements.

   Register a trade name

   The name includes the legal-form acronym and must not violate public morals or public order.

   Get initial approval

   Confirmation that the government has no objection to the establishment. It lets you proceed but does not yet grant the right to operate.

   MOA / local agent agreement

   Sign the Memorandum of Association (MOA) or a local service agent (LSA) agreement where required.

   Choose location and register Ejari

   A physical address is required; premises must comply with the economic department and municipality rules. In Dubai the agreement is registered with Ejari.

7. 7

   Extra approvals and licence collection

   Obtain sector approvals and collect the licence from the economic department's service centres. DET licence types: industrial, commercial, professional, eTrader, dual, instant, SME, Intelaq.
