   Agree on rent payments

   You can pay the rent in one payment or through multiple payments, as agreed with the broker or landlord. Some brokers may also require a commission fee; check the current amount on the authority's website.

   Prepare the required documents

   To conclude a lease contract with the landlord or real estate agent, provide a copy of your passport, a valid residence visa and Emirates ID, along with post-dated cheques covering payments for the agreed lease period.

   Complete and register the lease

   Lease agreements between landlords and tenants must be registered by the respective authority in each emirate. In Dubai, landlords must register lease agreements with Dubai Land Department.

   Account for Dubai housing fees

   Tenants must pay housing fees to Dubai Municipality. The fee is calculated from the yearly rental charges and added to the monthly electricity and water bills. Check the current rate on the authority's website.
