Identify your category
The Golden Visa is granted to real-estate and business investors, entrepreneurs, highly skilled professionals, people of outstanding talent, top students and several other categories. Requirements and documents depend on the category.

Each category has its own criteria (e.g. property investors must own a qualifying asset; professionals need a contract and qualifications). Check the exact thresholds on u.ae and with GDRFA/ICP.

Submit your application
Apply online via GDRFA Dubai or ICP (portal/app) or through accredited centres. For property investors the check is often run together with the Dubai Land Department (DLD).

Medical test and Emirates ID
Once the application is approved you take a medical fitness test and apply for the Emirates ID — just like a standard residence visa.

Golden Visa issuance
After the checks the visa is issued for a long term. The holder can sponsor family and keeps the status even after long spells outside the country (unlike a standard visa).
