Overseas Pakistanis sent home $3.63 billion in July, marking a 4.5% increase compared to the previous month. This overall growth was driven largely by Saudi Arabia, while the UAE experienced a shift. Remittances from the Emirates fell nearly seven per cent, totaling $737.3 million for the month.
Saudi Arabia recorded a significant rise of 10.1 per cent, reaching $913.9 million. In the UAE, Dubai remained the largest contributor by far, sending $575.5 million. Abu Dhabi followed with $135.4 million. Sharjah and other emirates recorded smaller amounts, with $14.25 million and $12.15 million respectively.
Across the wider Gulf region, other GCC countries increased their transfers through official channels by nearly five per cent, totaling $336 million. These figures illustrate the varying financial behaviors among expatriates in different Gulf states.
