In the first half of 2026 alone, the utility commissioned 793 new 11kV substations across the emirate. This massive infrastructure project required over 624,000 man-hours, all executed under stringent quality, efficiency, and safety protocols.
These substations are critical components for the city's power distribution network. They function to step voltage levels up or down, allowing electricity to be transmitted efficiently over long distances before being delivered safely to end-users. With this latest addition, DEWA now manages approximately 53 main 33kV substations and a total of 47,723 medium voltage stations.
