   The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is the federal authority for environmental planning and action in the UAE. Its action plans emerge from its vision to ensure a sustainable environment for life. Turn to it for national-level environmental matters.

   Working with the competent local authorities, the Ministry develops environmental programmes and initiatives that aim to contribute to the sustainability of water, enhance food security, raise the rates of bio-security and enhance environmental security.

   In addition to the Ministry, each emirate has a competent authority for environmental protection. For people living in Dubai, that competent authority is Dubai Municipality — your first stop for local environmental questions.

   If your matter sits in another emirate, the competent authorities are: Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, Environment & Protected Areas Authority - Sharjah, Ajman Municipality, Umm Al Quwain Municipality, Environment Protection and Development Authority - Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah Municipality.
