Dates and rules follow official UAE government announcements (u.ae, MOHRE) and state agency publications. Lunar dates are marked "expected" until officially confirmed.
Ramadan
Ramadan 2026 (1447 AH) has passed: 18 February — 19 March, 30 days. Eid al-Fitr began on Friday 20 March.

- Private sector: working day reduced by 2 hours for all employees (MOHRE resolution).
- Federal public sector: 9:00–14:30 Mon–Thu, 9:00–12:00 Fri; flexible and remote work encouraged.
Who works, who doesn't
Saturday and Sunday (since 2022). Exception: Sharjah public sector and schools rest Friday–Sunday.
u.ae →Law doesn't fix the days; most companies work Mon–Fri. Holidays are paid days off for both sectors.
u.ae →Mon–Fri, usually 8:00 to 15:00–16:00 (shorter on Friday). Closed on holidays, online banking works.
